BEST PERMANENT MAKEUP AFTERCARE

With so many aftercare products and processes out there, which is the best? Which do your clients prefer? We are going to break down all the different types of healing for PMU so that you can make the best educated decision for your clients.

TYPES OF PMU AFTERCARE PROCEDURES:

  • Dry healing
  • Moist wound healing

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?

Dry healing is the process of keeping the brows completely dry for the full duration of healing, 7-14 days. This process (depending on the technique) can create large, thick scabs. With these thick scabs, there is a lot of flaking, and noticeable peeling for the client. In turn, this can be very difficult for the client to manage.

Moist wound healing is when the permanent makeup is cleansed morning and night OUTSIDE of the shower. This process does the following:

  • Helps prevent infection
  • Keeps brows clean from sweat, oil and debris
  • Minimizes scabbing by removing initial lymph fluid from the brows immediately post procedure.

WHICH IS BETTER?

Most artist’s of over 6+ years of experience will argue that moist wound healing is more sanitary, and gives the client the smoothest aftercare results with little to no scabbing. This method also promotes beautiful healed results on top of a smooth 7-10 day healing.

When long term client’s were asked to give feedback on which PMU aftercare they personally enjoyed doing most, 10/10 times the response was moist wound healing.

If dry healing does interest you, the only suitable technique that may make sense for dry healing is Nano Machine Hair strokes, as this is a less invasive technique than microblading and does not create thick scabs.
